We may have just gotten the biggest tell thus far in what to expect from the ongoing investigation into ‘Russiagate’ by U.S. Attorney John Durham.

According to multiple reports on Saturday, his top aide Nora Dannehy, herself a former U.S. attorney who was out of government for six years before returning at Durham’s request last year, resigned on Friday allegedly over political pressure from the Justice Department to wrap up the probe.

The Harford Courant reports:

Federal prosecutor Nora Dannehy, a top aide to U.S. Attorney John H. Durham in his Russia investigation, has quietly resigned — at least partly out of concern that the investigative team is being pressed for political reasons to produce a report before its work is done, colleagues said.

Dannehy, a highly regarded prosecutor who has worked with or for Durham for decades, informed colleagues in the U.S. Attorney’s office in New Haven of her resignation from the Department of Justice by email Thursday evening. The short email was a brief farewell message and said nothing about political pressure, her work for Durham or what the Durham team has produced, according to people who received it.

Here comes the tell:

Dannehy is a career prosecutor who worked closely with Durham before leaving the U.S. Attorney’s office about a decade ago for a corporate position in the defense industry. Durham persuaded her to return to the justice department and, within weeks, join his team in Washington in the spring of 2019.

Colleagues said Dannehy is not a supporter of President Trump and has been concerned in recent weeks by what she believed was pressure from Barr, who appointed Durham, to produce results before the election. They said she has been considering resigning for weeks, conflicted by loyalty to Durham and concern about politics.

Barr has repeatedly indicated that more than anything, Durham’s probe was not on any timetable and that his primary objective was to conduct a thorough investigation and bring charges, if applicable, not produce a report.

So, what’s the tell?

It could very be that this non-Trump-supporting prosecutor knows there are additional charges coming down the pipe and, in order to protect her job prospects in a defense industry that Trump is tired of feeding, she is getting out now so her name is not associated with any of the charges.

There are other indications that charges may be coming.

Fox News’ White House Correspondent Kevin Corke cryptically tweeted Friday, “Remember when I said, wake me when there are indictments and or arrests? Well, a solid DOJ source just told me to ‘set my alarm clock,'” adding: “I said, I’ll believe it when I see it.”

And then, former senior correspondent and Adam Housley appeared to agree with us.

“The Durham Investigation is clearly coming to its final phase/days. Dannehy helped frame the investigation and likely doesn’t want or need to be in the spotlight. It’s gonna get ugly. The media reporting…yet again…is wrong,” he wrote.

Let’s hope. There are a whole lot of somebody’s who sure appeared to have broken a lot of laws in their bogus spy operation against President Trump. There needs to be justice.
